Usage Note

Cualquiera apocopates to cualquier before any noun, regardless of gender: cualquier día ('any day'), cualquier persona ('any person'). As a pronoun standing alone it keeps its full form: cualquiera puede hacerlo ('anyone can do it'). In the plural it becomes cualesquiera, though this form is rare in modern speech.
