Usage Note
Cualitativo describes something assessed by quality rather than measurable quantity; its counterpart is cuantitativo ('quantitative'). In academic and research contexts the pair investigación cualitativa / cuantitativa is a standard methodological distinction. Like most -ivo adjectives, the feminine form is cualitativa.
