Vizcaíno refers specifically to something or someone from Vizcaya (Biscay), one of the three Basque provinces, and is narrower than vasco (Basque in general). In culinary contexts a la vizcaína denotes a classic sauce made with dried red peppers and onion, especially with cod (bacalao).
