Usage Note

Vengar means to avenge someone else's wrong; the reflexive vengarse means 'to take revenge' for oneself (me voy a vengar = I'm going to get revenge). It is a regular -ar verb. The related noun is venganza (revenge/vengeance), and the adjective vengativo means vindictive.
