Usage Note
Sollozo is the noun form of sollozar (to sob). It typically appears in the plural sollozos when describing a bout of crying: rompió en sollozos (broke into sobs). The double-l is pronounced as a 'y' sound in standard Spanish. Not to be confused with suspiro (sigh).
