Emoción covers both a felt emotion and the sense of excitement or thrill: ¡Qué emoción! (How exciting!). The related adjective emocionado means 'moved' or 'thrilled' (not 'emotional' in a negative sense). Emocionante means 'exciting' or 'moving'. The verb emocionar means 'to move emotionally', and its reflexive emocionarse means 'to get emotional' or 'to be moved'.
