Usage Note

Compartir means 'to share' in both senses: to divide something with others (compartir la pizza) and to share an experience or feeling (compartir una opinión). It is a regular -ir verb. Unlike English 'share', it does not mean 'to post on social media' in standard usage — that is typically publicar or compartir (the latter is increasingly accepted in digital contexts).
