Admirador can refer to an intellectual admirer (a fan of someone's work) or a romantic suitor — context determines which sense is meant. The feminine form is admiradora. It differs from seguidor (follower) in that admiration is the core sentiment, not mere following. In a romantic context admirador secreto (secret admirer) is a common collocation. The verb admirar and noun admiración belong to the same family.
