Tenis is invariable in the plural (los tenis). In Spain it primarily means the sport of tennis; in Mexico and Central America, tenis (plural tenis or tenises) also commonly means 'trainers/sneakers' (zapatillas in Spain). Jugar al tenis = 'to play tennis'.
