Usage Note
Temer is a regular -er verb. It takes a direct object for a specific fear (temo la oscuridad) or a subordinate clause (temo que llegues tarde). The reflexive temerse adds a sense of reluctant suspicion: me temo que no means 'I'm afraid not', a common polite hedge in conversation.
Examples
"No temas al fracaso."
Natural Translation
Do not fear failure.
