suyas

hers

determiner SOO-yahs Rare

Also means

theirs

Usage Note

Suyas is the feminine plural stressed possessive, used predicatively or after a noun — estas llaves son suyas (these keys are hers/his/theirs). Because suyo/suya/suyos/suyas is ambiguous in person (his, hers, yours-formal, theirs), context or a clarifying phrase such as de ella / de ellos is often added to avoid confusion.

Examples

"Estas ideas no son suyas, son mías."

Natural Translation

These ideas are not hers, they are mine.
