Usage Note
Ropa is a feminine mass noun that is almost always used in the singular even when referring to many garments: tengo mucha ropa (I have a lot of clothes). The plural ropas exists but is literary or refers to specific items. Ropa interior means underwear; ropa de cama means bed linen.
