Usage Note

Rosa functions as both a feminine noun (the flower) and an invariable adjective for the colour pink: un vestido rosa stays rosa regardless of gender or number, unlike most Spanish adjectives. The diminutive rosita is common in affectionate or informal speech. As a name it is one of the most traditional Spanish female given names.
