Renovación covers both abstract renewal (renovación de votos — renewal of vows) and physical renovation (renovación del edificio — building renovation). It is also used for contract or permit renewal (renovación del contrato, renovación del pasaporte). The verb is renovar, which is a stem-changing o→ue verb (renuevo, renuevas...).
