Usage Note

Reconvertir means to convert something back to a previous state or transform it into something new, often used for industrial restructuring (reconvertir una fábrica) or personal reinvention. It follows the -ir irregular pattern of convertir: the stem vowel e changes to ie in stressed forms (reconvierte) and to i in the preterite third person.
