Reconversión frequently appears in economic and industrial contexts, describing the transformation of an industry or workforce, as in reconversión industrial ('industrial restructuring'). The verb is reconvertir. It can also describe personal reinvention, as in reconversión profesional ('career change'), closer to the English 'retraining'.
