Also means
to patch up
Usage Note
Recomponer is an irregular verb that follows the same conjugation pattern as poner (e.g. recompongo, recompuse, recompondré). The prefix re- adds a sense of restoration — putting something back together after damage. It is more formal than arreglar ('to fix') and implies a more thorough reconstitution. The related noun is recomposición (f). It can also be used reflexively: recomponerse means 'to pull oneself together' after an emotional upset.
Examples
"Intentó recomponer la relación después del conflicto."
Natural Translation
He tried to patch up the relationship after the conflict.
