Usage Note

Potenciar means to strengthen or maximise the potential of something: potenciar la economía (to boost the economy), potenciar las habilidades (to develop skills). It is a regular -ar verb. Do not confuse with potencializar, a less standard form used in some Latin American varieties meaning the same thing.
