Usage Note

Peonás is the colloquial Andalusian form of peonadas, the plural of peonada (a day's agricultural labour); the dropped intervocalic -d- is a hallmark of southern Spanish speech. It often appears with echar — echar una peoná ('to put in a day's work'). It is regional and informal; standard Spanish uses peonada or jornal.
