taste (sense)
Usage Note
Paladar refers both to the physical roof of the mouth and to one's sense of taste or gustatory discernment — tener buen paladar ('to have a good palate'). In Cuba, paladar is also the widely used term for a privately run restaurant (a usage dating from the economic reforms of the 1990s that allowed small private eateries). Do not confuse with palabra ('word').
