Olor is masculine and refers to any smell, pleasant or not. To specify a good smell, use buen olor or aroma (m); for a bad smell, mal olor or hedor (m). The verb to smell something is oler a: huele a rosas (it smells of roses) — note the stem change o→hue- in the present tense.
