Aroma is masculine despite ending in '-a', like mapa, programa, and tema — a group of Greek-origin nouns that trip up learners. El aroma (not la aroma). It refers to a pleasant or distinctive smell, especially of food, wine, or flowers. The adjective is aromático/aromática and the verb aromatizar (to perfume, to flavour with aromatics).
