Cegar has two main senses: to blind someone (deprive of sight) and to block or stop up a passage — cegar un pozo (to seal off a well). It is a stem-changing verb (e-ie): ciega, ciegas. The figurative use — cegado por la ira (blinded by rage) — is very common.
