Usage Note
Mirada is the concrete noun for a look or gaze — echar una mirada means 'to take a look.' It carries more emotional weight than a glance; a mirada fija is a fixed stare. Not to be confused with vista (vision, view) or mirar (the verb 'to look'). Una mirada often conveys more than words in literary prose.
