Usage Note
Macedonio refers to anything or anyone from North Macedonia, or historically from the ancient kingdom of Macedon. As a noun, un macedonio is a person from Macedonia. Macedonia is also the Spanish word for a fruit salad (macedonia de frutas), thought to allude to the mixed peoples of the ancient Macedonian empire; the two senses are clearly distinguished by context.
