envidiable

enviable

adjective en-bee-DYAH-bleh Rare

Usage Note

Envidiable is invariable in gender (una posición envidiable, un talento envidiable) and takes only -s in the plural. It is almost always positive in Spanish — describing something one could justifiably envy — unlike 'enviable' in English, which is sometimes used sarcastically. The root noun is envidia (envy).

Examples

"Tiene una memoria envidiable."

Natural Translation

She has an enviable memory.
