Usage Note

Enviar has a written accent on the i in most conjugated forms to break the diphthong: envío, envías, envía, envían (present indicative). It is interchangeable with mandar in most everyday contexts, though enviar is slightly more formal. Enviar un correo ('to send an email') and enviar un mensaje ('to send a message') are standard digital-age collocations.
