enfado

anger

noun en-FAH-doh Rare

Also means

annoyance

Usage Note

Enfado describes irritation or anger, typically of moderate intensity — stronger than molestia (annoyance) but not as intense as ira (wrath) or furia (fury). It derives from enfadar (to annoy/anger). In Latin America, enojo and enojado are more widely used for the same feeling, while enfadado sounds distinctly Peninsular to Latin American ears.

Examples

"El enfado de su jefe era evidente en cada palabra."

Natural Translation

His boss's anger was evident in every word.
