Usage Note
Encestador (fem. encestadora) is a basketball-specific term for a player who scores by putting the ball in the basket (cesta). It is built on encestar (to score a basket) + the agent suffix -dor. Unlike the more general anotador (scorer in any sport), encestador is almost exclusively used in basketball contexts in Spain and Latin America.
Examples
"Es el mejor encestador del equipo."
Natural Translation
He is the best scorer on the team.
