Corrosivo is used both literally (a substance that eats away at materials: ácido corrosivo) and figuratively (a wit or criticism that stings: un humor corrosivo). The figurative use is very common in literary Spanish. The feminine form is corrosiva; corrosividad is the corresponding noun.
