Also means
in a state of shock
Usage Note
Conmocionado is the past participle of conmocionar used as an adjective and always describes an emotional or psychological state of shock — not a physical concussion (which is conmoción cerebral). Despite sharing a root, conmocionado (emotionally shaken) and conmoción cerebral (traumatic brain injury) must not be confused. The word frequently appears in news reports: los testigos estaban conmocionados (witnesses were shaken).
Examples
"Los vecinos estaban conmocionados por la noticia."
Natural Translation
The neighbours were shaken by the news.
