aún

still; yet

adverb ah-OON Common

Also means

even (with comparatives)

Usage Note

Aún (with accent) means 'still' or 'yet': aún no ha llegado ('he still hasn't arrived'). Without the accent, aun means 'even': aun así ('even so'). The accent is the only written distinction between these two words. In negative sentences aún no ('not yet') is more emphatic than todavía no, though both are correct and interchangeable in most contexts.

Examples

"Aún no hemos comido."

Natural Translation

We still haven't eaten.

Literal Translation

Still not have-we eaten
