aun

even

adverb AH-oon Less Common

Also means

although

Usage Note

Aun (without accent) means 'even' or 'although' and does not imply time: aun así ('even so'), aun cuando ('even when/although'). Do not confuse it with aún (with accent), which means 'still' or 'yet' and refers to time: aún no ha llegado ('he still hasn't arrived'). The accent is the only written distinction between these two very different words.

Examples

"Aun con todo el esfuerzo, no lo logró."

Natural Translation

Even with all the effort, he didn't manage it.
