Usage Note
Adonde (written as one word) is a relative adverb of place meaning 'to where' and introduces a clause with an antecedent (el lugar adonde vamos). It contrasts with the interrogative ¿adónde? (with an accent), used in questions. Both differ from donde ('where'), which does not imply direction.
Examples
"Ese es el lugar adonde vamos."
Natural Translation
That is the place where we are going.
Literal Translation
That is the place to-where we go.
