Usage Note
Amargado describes a person made bitter by disappointment or resentment — closer to 'soured on life' than merely tasting bitter (for which amargo is used). It is the past participle of amargar used as an adjective, and the feminine form is amargada. In colloquial speech estar amargado is the standard construction.
Examples
"Desde que perdió el trabajo está muy amargado."
Natural Translation
Since he lost his job he has been very bitter.
