Usage Note
Vicecanciller refers to the deputy of a chancellor or foreign minister, depending on the country. In Argentina and some other Latin American states it denotes the second-in-command at the foreign ministry (cancillería), whereas in Germany or Austria the reference is to the political vice-chancellor. The gender is common: el vicecanciller, la vicecanciller. The plural is vicecancilleres.
