Verde is an invariable-gender adjective — the same form is used for masculine and feminine (el coche verde, la manzana verde). It also means unripe (una fruta verde = an unripe fruit) and in colloquial speech can mean 'dirty' or risqué (un chiste verde = a dirty joke). Ponerse verde de envidia = to be green with envy.
