Usage Note
Albiazul is a colour compound combining albi- (from Latin albus, 'white') and azul ('blue'), used almost exclusively in sports journalism to describe teams whose strip is blue and white — for example, the football clubs Málaga CF or Cruz Azul. Similar compounds include albirrojo ('red and white') and albinegro ('black and white'). It is invariable in gender, changing only for number: los equipos albiazules.
