Usage Note

Verbalmente means done in spoken words, by word of mouth, as opposed to in writing (por escrito). It is common in legal and administrative contexts (un acuerdo verbal, acordado verbalmente). It does not imply informality — a verbal agreement can still be binding in Spanish law.
