Usage Note

Vaso is the everyday word for a drinking glass (the object), as in un vaso de agua. Do not confuse it with copa (a stemmed glass, used for wine) or taza (a cup with a handle). In anatomy and medicine vaso also means a vessel, as in vaso sanguíneo (blood vessel). The false-friend 'vase' is jarrón or florero in Spanish.
