Usage Note

Botella is the generic word for a bottle of any kind (botella de vino, botella de agua). In some Latin American countries, especially Cuba, botella is also slang for hitchhiking. The diminutive botellín is used in Spain for a small (200 ml) beer bottle, distinct from the standard botella.
