Usage Note
Sindicalista is a common-gender noun — el sindicalista, la sindicalista — so only the article marks sex. It refers to a member or activist of a sindicato ('trade union'). The broader term sindicalismo names the labour-union movement. In Spain the word carries no inherently pejorative connotation, unlike some registers of English 'union man'.
