Seguimiento comes from seguir (to follow) and denotes the act of tracking, monitoring, or following up: seguimiento médico (medical follow-up), seguimiento satelital (satellite tracking). It is also used in journalism for ongoing coverage of a story. Hacer un seguimiento de means 'to follow up on.'
