seguidamente

immediately after

adverb seh-gee-DAH-men-teh Rare

Also means

next, subsequently

Usage Note

Seguidamente signals that something follows directly after what was just mentioned, slightly more formal than después or luego. It is common in written prose, official announcements, and newscasts. Unlike a continuación, it does not take the preposition de before a noun; you say seguidamente se presentó but a continuación de la ceremonia.

Examples

"Seguidamente, el alcalde tomó la palabra."

Natural Translation

Immediately after, the mayor took the floor.
