Also means
to record
Usage Note
Registrar covers both 'to register/enroll' and 'to search/examine' (as in police searching premises). The reflexive registrarse means 'to check in' (at a hotel) or 'to sign up'. Don't confuse it with grabar, which specifically means 'to record' audio or video.
Examples
"Tienes que registrarte en el hotel."
Natural Translation
You have to check in at the hotel.
Literal Translation
You have to register-yourself at the hotel.
