reescribir

to rewrite

verb rreh-ehs-kree-BEER Rare

Usage Note

Reescribir follows the same irregular patterns as escribir: irregular past participle reescrito (not reescribido). It means to write something again, usually with changes. Some style guides write it as re-escribir with a hyphen, but the solid form is now standard in RAE-approved usage.

Examples

"Tuvo que reescribir el informe desde cero."

Natural Translation

He had to rewrite the report from scratch.
