Origin: From Latin reconciliare (to reunite).

Usage Note

Reconciliar can be used transitively (reconciliar a dos enemigos) or reflexively (reconciliarse con alguien). The reflexive form is more common in everyday speech and implies mutual reconciliation. Do not confuse with reconocer (to recognise) or conciliar (to reconcile/combine, as in conciliar el sueño — to get to sleep).
