Usage Note

Princesa is the feminine counterpart of príncipe ('prince'). In Spain, la Princesa de Asturias is the title of the heir to the throne. As a term of endearment (mi princesa) it is common in colloquial speech. Note the written accent on príncipe but not on princesa.
