Usage Note
Prestación most commonly appears in official or legal contexts, especially in the phrase prestaciones sociales ('social benefits / welfare entitlements'). In employment contracts, prestaciones (plural) refers to the package of employee benefits beyond salary. Do not confuse with préstamo ('loan'), which shares the same Latin root praestare.
Examples
"Solicitó las prestaciones por desempleo."
Natural Translation
She applied for unemployment benefits.
