Plenamente intensifies adjectives and past participles, stressing total completeness: plenamente consciente ('fully aware'), plenamente satisfecho ('fully satisfied'). It is more formal and emphatic than completamente and common in written or official registers. The root adjective pleno means 'full' or 'in the middle of' (en pleno día = 'in broad daylight').
